YCT 3 – Pre-Intermediate Communication
The program is designed for children who already have a basic foundation in communication, helping them expand their Chinese language skills and improve their reflexes in familiar everyday situations.
The lessons focus on helping young learners become active communicators through familiar topics such as school life, friends, hobbies, daily routines, and the world around them.
Students will steadily master about 250 words while learning to use expanded sentence structures. By the end of the course, they will be able to participate in simple conversations, building the skills to communicate more naturally and flexibly.
🎯 Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, students will achieve the following skills:
Vocabulary: Master approximately 250 words covering topics such as sports, food, animals, technology, and daily life.
Grammar & Sentence Patterns: Use expanded structures such as degree comparisons, the "把" (bǎ) sentence, time/duration expressions, and basic conjunctions.
Listening & Speaking: Participate in simple conversations with improved reflexes in familiar situations.
Pronunciation: Standardize pronunciation and intonation to help communication feel more natural.
📖 Course Structure
The course is divided into two main stages:
Stage 1 (YCT 3.1)
32 lessons focusing on school settings, family, and personal hobbies.
Stage 2 (YCT 3.2)
32 lessons expanding into social topics, describing objects, and communicating in real-life situations.

Students practice dialogues in familiar contexts such as making phone calls, asking for directions, and chatting with friends.
Strengthening Communication Reflexes:
Practice quick responses and maintaining conversations through interactive activities.
Learning through Role-play:
Students participate in real-world scenarios like birthday celebrations and phone etiquette.
Regular Reinforcement:
Review lessons and tests after each stage help track progress.

Pronunciation (Pinyin):
- Standardize pronunciation and intonation to support natural communication.

- Getting familiar with basic radicals and improving Chinese character recognition.

- 喂, 您好! 我找我妈妈。 – Hello! I am looking for my mother.
- 动物园走这条路, 对吗? – This is the way to the zoo, right?
- 外面很冷吧? 别出去跑步了。 – It’s quite cold outside, isn't it? Don't go out for a run.
B. Lesson Themes:
